This review is from: Fodor's Hawaii 2012 (Full-color Travel Guide) (Paperback)
I spent 10 days in Maui and regret lugging this guide around. It was difficult to use and reads like it was written by a government committee. Instead of dealing with an area 'in toto' it scattered the information here and there. I found some of the restaurant recommendations to be dated and not at all that good. Caveat, skip the singular, all-in-one Hawaii guides and go for those that are written specifically for the island(s) you want to visit; like Friedman's "Maui Revealed: The Ultimate Guidebook" (excellent) written by a local. But, if you must get one guide, then try Frommer's Hawaii day by day. Fodor's Hawaii = not recommended.
