A lovely book to describe Indianapolis. As in other reviews, I agree that the book is definitely written by someone who loves this city and is not critical of any aspect. Its thus hard to get a full sense for what to do in the city. It is, however, one of only a few books on Indianapolis and I'm very pleased with the information I was able to gather about the city for my trip. Definitely worth it if you will be in the city and are clueless about what to do :-)!

It's a fair description of the city.
These authors who write this type book are always a) very familiar with the area they write about but b) not always able to really give a truly critical review. It must be like trying to describe your children to someone who has not met them, and remaining totally unbiased. It's hard to do. They like their cities and have pride in them, and it shows. This is not a bad thing, just keep that in mind.
If you just like to get the feel for a city by someone who knows it well, these books provide that. This author also gives a good review of the history of the area and how that has lead to the development, which is always nice.
