I have been using this book to plan my wedding in the Pocono Mountains. It has helped me to find a lot of interesting places for my guests to stay and see as well as help me to locate a reception site. Some of the weblink info is incorrect and/or not up to date and is the primary reason I did not give the book 5 stars. I would have an expandable map as well. One thing that I will tell you about the Poconos that the authors don't mention is that the overall cost to vacation in the Poconos is surprising less than you would think. In fact, in researching potential wedding sites I have been finding packages for 5 hour wedding ceremonies (not inclusive of alcohol and site fees) around 40-60 dollars per person. This book should have been a five star. It has all the components to do so. It lists things to do, places to eat etc. Why then does it get only a 2 star from me? Because the authors clearly did not do their homework and update the book. As a result, I wound up spending my vacation at a Hell Hole called Penn Hills. Think I'm over-exaggerating? Check out the reviews at trip advisor. Better yet, take a drive up there. You'll see paint peeling from the side of the buildings, rusted equipment strewn all over their property, giant cracks with weeds growing in their tennis courts and buildings with structural damage so bad, they have been abandoned. What did the authors write? They describe it as "newly redecorated" and they describe a "spa" which is non-existent. At some point in time in the 70's and maybe the 80's this place was great. Now it is a nightmare. I could see if this book was written back then but it has a copy write of 2005! I also found that information on...Read more
