Product Description
This opening fold-out contains a general map of Rome to help you visualize the 6 large districts discussed in this guide, and 4 pages of valuable information, handy tips and useful addresses.
Discover Rome through 6 districts and 6 maps
Campo dei Fiori/ Pantheon/ Piazza Navona Vaticano/ Piazza Cavour/ Prati Testaccio/ Aventino/ Trastevere/ Ghetto Tridente/ Piazza del Popolo/ Villa Borghese Quirinale/ Esquilino/ Termini Caracalla/ San Giovanni/ Colosseo
For each district there is a double-page of addresses (restaurants — listed in ascending order of price — cafés, bars, tearooms music venues and stores) followed by a fold-out map for the relevant area with the essential places to see (indicated on the map by a star *). These places are by no means all that Rome has to offer but to us they are unmissable. The grid-referencing system (A B2) makes it easy for you to pinpoint addresses quickly on the map.
Transportation and hotels in Rome The last fold-out consists of a transportation map and 4 pages of practical information that include a selection of hotels. A thematic index lists all the sites and addresses featured in this guide

Summary: best little guide out there 2010-07-11
Comment: After several trips to Europe I bought the Knoph Mapguide to Paris and found it to be my favorite guide book ever. The Rome guide is the same format: concise, easy to use, and informative. I've read it and plan to use it as my travel companion next month.

Comment: I like these maps very much. I first was introduced to the one on ISTANBUL, TURKEY. This ROME edition seems equally easy to follow and yet quite comprehensive. I especially like the tips to search out certain things in each neighborhood. It fits into a jacket pocket and is neat to read over an espresso in a cafe.

Comment: I am a frequent traveler and these are the only books I will buy now. They will generally fit in a coat pocket or easily in a handbag, and are pretty inconspicuous for a map, even if you're walking down the street carrying it.
Do go to a bookstore or library to read a proper guidebook first. This has limited information on attractions and restaurants, but not enough to plan a trip.
A note on Rome: Some of the smaller streets will not be on the map. This is particularly troublesome if you are trying to find a restaurant that is somewhat off the beaten path, as we were. In that case, it's probably best to call the restaurant and ask for the closest major street(s).

Comment: These books are great to carry in your purse while traveling. The maps are indispensible. I bought a book for each city we visited in Europe. We walked everywhere and never got lost. Made planning our days easier.
