fantastic travel book for people traveling on a budget or just looking for ideas for low cost tourist info ; also things off the beaten path which is always nice when on vacation , get away for the tourist -- oh ! wait , i am a tourist :)

LG Italy 2009 was a bulky 800 pages; this LG Italy is 530 pages (and no '2010' in title). I'm all for trimming out extraneous outdated material, but nowhere do I find an intro explanation like: "LG 2010 has a new slender look. We've improved it by deleting [whatever] for these reasons: __." Instead, 270 pages have vanished. I've flipped through (my local library copies of) LG:Italy:2009 and this '2010'. Here's a partial comparison [vs 2009]:
Not a good sign: the 2010 Index is 3 pages [vs 5.5]. The 1-page [vs 2] Table of Contents no longer lists all the regional towns that have significant page content. The inside back cover is blank [vs 'useful' conversions, phrases, phone#s]. There are 7 blank final pages [as if users don't know to use post-it notes?]. Inside the front cover, the color city maps are all gone (Venice 2pp, Florence 2pp, Rome 7pp). Even the RAIL Map of Italy is gone.
Apparently Bergamo, Assisi, and Orvieto are no longer worthy of any content! Why...Read more
