Disclosure: I edited this book for Let's Go. Looking back at it now, it's amazing how much the Middle East has changed. Here's is an Israel that is not yet a modern high-tech state, an Egypt that is an authoritarian regime, a Jordan undiscovered by tourists, a West Bank ruled entirely by Israel. This is pre-Internet days. The introductory histories still hold up pretty well, though.
