Sabine's guide was a valuable tool for me and my wife as we exerienced our first Oktoberfest in 2006. The pullout map was quite helpful when thumbing through a book wasn't practical.
Each tent is summarized with an insider's perspective (Sabine's husband manages a mid-sized tent). The rides are described and categorized. There are plenty of photos and tips throughout. The left side is written in German and the right side is in English, so the guide serves as a language tool as well.
The only thing missing is a secret password to be allowed entrance to her husband's elite tent. ;-)

This book was very helpful to my friends and I when we went to Oktoberfest. It has a great description and picture of each tent. Additionally, it has good maps of Munich and the Theresienwiese; one you can even pull out and take with you on the go! It also includes some useless information, but fun facts nonetheless. There is also a recipe for the Roast Chicken they serve at Oktoberfest. My husband and I made it and it was pretty good!
