3.0 out of 5 stars Travel information is great, but disc has issues., February 27, 2011

This review is from: Rick Steves' Greece and Turkey DVD (DVD-ROM)
I don't know why, but this disc caused a lot of problems for our DVD player, which has no problems with other discs. It sometimes doesn't load at all, and when it does load it takes FOREVER. It seems to stall when trying to access the disc menu, and if you watch in the "play all" mode, it just repeats the first episode.
Having struggled through it, though, it is a good travel doc. Rick Steves as always goes off the beaten path and finds travel gold. Don't expect a comprehensive guide, he focuses on just a few locations and activities. Some of the episodes are pretty old by this point, however, making their information out-of-date, not great if you're using the shows to plan your own vacation. The Santorini episode especially is out-of-date. Still, if you are planning a trip to Greece and Turkey, it's worth a look, just double-check newer travel guides or the internet to make sure sites are still open.
