You can count on Rick Steves to tell you what you really need to know when traveling in Ireland. With this guide, you can explore lively Dublin, quaint Kilkenny, and the moss-draped ruins of the Ring of Kerry. Navigate meandering back roads that lead to windswept crags on the dramatic Dingle Peninsula. Explore Ireland’s revered past by following St. Patrick’s footsteps to the Rock of Cashel. Marvel at Newgrange, the mysterious mound older than the pyramids; then connect with today’s Irish culture by grabbing a pint at the local pub, enjoying the fiddle music, and jumping into conversations that buzz with brogue. Rick’s candid, humorous advice will guide you to good-value hotels and restaurants. He’ll help you plan where to go and what to see, depending on the length of your trip. You’ll get up-to-date recommendations on what is worth your time and money. More than just reviews and directions, a Rick Steves guidebook is a tour guide in your pocket.

I bought four books for our trip to Ireland, and each of us got one to read: this was by far the best! The information on customs, language, insider tips, etc., were both fun and invaluable. My son constantly shared insightful tidbits during entire trip, stimulating some great conversations during the daily drives. This is on top of the excellent maps (very much like the Collin's Maps which were invaluable as well) and other necessary information. Make your next trip to Ireland just a bit more fun and informative: buy this book!

I've planned a 3-week trip to Ireland and looked in most of the guide books. Believe me, this one has all the information one needs to be as informed as possible. It has useful tips, prices (so important!), the best bargains and loads of ways to save money. Rick gives the highlights of the most interesting sights, and he guides you through museum tours if your time is limited. I won't leave home without it!

Even though I have other versions of this book, I always get the newest one when I travel to Ireland. It's current and up to date with resources and locations. I never travel to Ireland without it.
