You can count on Rick Steves to tell you what you really need to know when visiting Rothenburg and the Romantic Road.
Rick Steves covers the essentials of Rothenburg and the Romantic Road, including nearby Tauber Valley and Toppler Castle. Visit Rothenburg’s Medieval Crime and Punishment Museum, or venture along the Romantic Road, the most scenic way to connect Frankfurt and Munich. You’ll get Rick’s firsthand advice on the best sights, eating, sleeping, and nightlife, and the maps and self-guided tours will ensure you make the most of your experience. More than just reviews and directions, a Rick Steves Snapshot guide is a tour guide in your pocket.
Rick Steves’ Snapshot guides consist of excerpted chapters from Rick Steves’ European country guidebooks. Snapshot guides are a great choice for travelers visiting a specific city or region, rather than multiple European destinations. These slim guides offer all of Rick’s up-to-date advice on what sights are worth your time and money. They include good-value hotel and restaurant recommendations, with no introductory information (such as overall trip planning, when to go, and travel practicalities).

Rick Steves Snapshot Rothenburg & the Romantic Road
This review is from: Rick Steves Snapshot Rothenburg & the Romantic Road (Kindle Edition)
Beware - this book is primarily on Rothenburg and very little about the Romantic Road in general. I was hoping for more information about other towns on the Romantic road but there are not more than a few pages total for all the other towns - even at that the information is limited. For example, the town of Fussen is mentioned, but no information about why I might want to go there or what to see.
At one point the book says to "See the full Wieskirche description of the Bavaria and Tirol chapter, which also covers Fussen". I can only assume that the book is referencing the Germany book from which this was abstracted since there are no chapters on anything related to Bavaria or Tirol. Looks like just hack job from the full book. The least they could have done is extract information on all the towns. Very disappointed.
