And, yes, I know that families come in various shapes, sizes, ages and blended generations.
Here's a big, thick, idea-packed resource book from the family-friendly and globally savvy folks at National Geographic. If you can't find something in this book that moves you to hit the road, then nothing will budge you! There are many great new travel books out there right now. (I also strongly recommend Frommers 500 Places to See Before They Disappear.) At this phase of our lives we don't have time or money for luxury travel. But we're on the road a lot for family weddings, college visits, sports events. This book gives me ideas for little places to stop along the way and turn the "commute" into a mini vacation. The ice cream recommendations especially bring a smile to my face! |
